San Miguel Wall No. 23
These intersections of color and trim happen between almost all buildings here in San Miguel.
Portal No. 58
These steps have a wonderfully organic feel to them. This seems reminiscent of the adobe homes of the Southwest.
Portal No. 57
Most of the San Miguel doorways have steps leading up to the threshold. Some old doorways are permanently closed and no longer have steps, so there is a doorway suspended in space.

Tarp City No. 2
Another example of the endless are of colors and shapes of tarps that covered this massive open air marketplace located just outside of San Miguel.
Nopales
Nopales are a vegetable made from the skinned and de-thorned pads of the prickly pear. This is served in numerous ways in Mexican cuisine such as napalitos and juevos con nopales.
Jugo de Zanahoriia
Carrot juice is probably the most popular juice here in Mexico. This open air market vendor certainly had an appealing display.
Frijoles
Of course there would have to be a wide variety of beans available at this open air marketplace.
Tarp City
This sprawling open air marketplace is covered with a tapestry of colorful tarps, lending a circus air. The colors were endless, and the marketplace took on the light of the tarps above rendering a kaleidoscope of colors.
Fruit Stand
In grocery, this display technique is known as the 'silent seller', and no wonder, as this gorgeous fruit sells itself with that fabulous color and beautiful onyx black seed.
Copperware
The hand formed copperware here in central Mexico is truly extraordinary in scale, form, and color.
San Miguel Streets
Typical street in San Miguel de Allende. The streets are stone as are the narrow sidewalks and the buildings always provide a feast of color.>

Here is another beautiful church in Guanajuato. Everything is being repristinated for the upcoming bicentennial, and that is why there is screening over the facade.

San Miguel Corner
This is a typical San Miguel de Allende image. The streets are quiet, sky of mountain blue, a variety of earthly colors on the houses, some distressed (but in a very charming way).
Guanajuato Courtyard
Guanajuato was clearly designed to allow people to enjoy the city. It has numerous squares, plazas and courtyards, often with a fountain such as this.
Gold Pipe Organ
This pipe organ was so lavishly ornamented, it seemed to be more likely found in the church servicing the King of Spain rather than the Basilica in Guanajuato.
Vaulted Ceiling
The Basilica in Guanajuato was lavishly adorned with countless crystal chandeliers and the vaulted ceiling was exquisitely done.
Side Chapel
This simple side chapel in the Basilica at Guanajuato had a lovely portrait of the Virgin of Guadalupe.

Guanajuato Church
The beautiful Basílica de Nuestra Señora de Guanajuato stands out against the high altitude sky, but, it is even more beautiful inside.
